So last time we talked, I was in a bit of a dark place. I’m self-aware enough to know that I was basically throwing myself a pity party. But now, things are so much better.
That work project that I was stressed about? It’s done (after 38 hours of work by yours truly between Sunday morning and Tuesday night). Bonus? I picked up enough comp time to cover almost all of my Disney trip next week. That metro card thing is resolved. Family stuff is in a much better place. I’ve been sleeping at night (and oversleeping in the mornings — I think I’ve earned it this week!). I don’t feel sick anymore, thanks to a steady diet of emergen-c and advil cold and sinus. I’ve actually eaten a vegetable!
This weekend is a long weekend — thank goodness! — and I have so many things to look forward to. A work happy hour tomorrow night at one of my WBF’s houses, a winery tour for my roommate’s birthday on Sunday, a long run, and that’s it. Nothing else on the agenda besides doing laundry, starting to pull my stuff together for the race next week, and hanging out with my favorite cocker spaniel.
I don’t really have much more than that to say — though I do have some more substantial blog posts planned for the next few days (#shocking) — just wanted to pop in here and say that things aren’t quite as dire as they were this time last week (and this time next week, I’ll be sitting by a pool with some of my besties and a cold drink, so I know it will be better then — eek!).
