The Cleanse – Day 7

The above gif (and awesome Destiny’s Child song) pretty much sums up what went through my head this morning. Taffy did some sleep barking — an entirely new thing that I hope was only a one-time treat — at 540 this morning, so we got up and went out. I ended up taking the castor oil this morning in two doses. The first, at around 6 AM, I only got halfway down before I started gagging hard core. Just barely missed out on throwing up in the sink. I did the other half about 45 I minutes later when I didn’t feel like I was going to die.

Immediately, I had horrible stomach cramps; those lasted until about 730. I’m not going to go into indelicate detail about what the castor oil did to my system. (I can only live through it once). One weird thing I didn’t expect was how lightheaded I felt. I guess I was dehydrated and normally eat earlier than 11 AM?

I finally was able to eat something late morning, and then Taffy and I enjoyed the rest of this beautiful Sunday. We went for a three mile walk, and I went to pure barre late afternoon. I didn’t feel like cooking, so I picked up dinner at Whole Foods, and we are currently watching the Closing Ceremony. The second half of today has been much better then the first.

What I ate:

Breakfast: 2 tablespoons castor oil. Breakfast of champions.

Lunch: 2 rice cakes with sun butter + 2 soft boiled eggs with roasted kale and cauliflower

Snack: Rice  cake with sun butter

Dinner: Roast turkey, garlic green beans, and baked sweet potato fries

Dessert: Apple with almond butter and cinnamon

I was way hungrier this afternoon than I normally am — maybe as a side effect from the castor oil? Maybe just a snacky day?
