I got to start my day today with a big old clarified butter cocktail. If that doesn’t scream party, I don’t know what will. To get the ghee down, I mixed it with a half cup of warmed coconut milk; the issue is that I don’t really love the taste of milk solo. So, this wasn’t my favorite thing to drink (that would be a vodka soda). I managed to gulp it down in 3 sips, and immediately my stomach didn’t feel great. The booklet says that the ghee can cause nausea and discomfort, and for a little bit this morning, I was afraid I was going to be one of those people. Luckily, it passed in about 10 minutes after drinking some warm water with lemon.
Day 4 is the start of “internal oleation,” which is the internal cleansing according to what I’ve read. By and large, the only difference is that you don’t do the oil massage and that you start the day with a clarified butter cocktail. This is all a lead up to castor oil day on Sunday (SO. MUCH. ANXIETY), so I’m sure as I increase the amount of ghee tomorrow and Saturday, I’ll have different feelings about it. I don’t really feel that different today.
Work went well — I had way more energy than I did yesterday, and Pure Barre was awesome (if a little bit of a sauna). The weather was sunny and 75 (name that tune), and I don’t know if my better mood was because of the weather or the toxins leaving my body. Since its supposed to rain this weekend, I guess I’ll find out the answer to that.
What I ate:
Breakfast: Same as yesterday. I’m a creature of habit — cleansing tea, green smoothie, frittata.
Lunch: leftover paleo pad thai from dinner last night with some roasted broccoli on the side
Snack: Small red apple with almond butter
Dinner: I wasn’t in the mood to cook, so I swung by Chipotle for a salad — grilled chicken, black beans, lettuce, guacamole as “dressing” on the side. It is really not the same without cheese, corn, chips, and fajita veggies. Chased by some peppermint green tea.
